6th Anniversary of Iraq War
London Truth Action: February ActionsA brief round up of the various street actions that London Truth Action got up to this month. February 28th All day street action outside the Convention on Modern Liberty to provide a solution to the Orwellian proceedings going on inside. While we were holding our Architects and Engineers banner we were approached by Guardian columnist Henry Porter and NO2ID National Coordinator Phil Booth. They were both engaged in conversation with us until 2 police officers pulled up in a car and attempted to carry out a 'Stop and Account' (Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000) on us for holding a banner. We politely refused to give our details and the officers went on their way but Mr Porter was so incensed at what had occured that when he introduced the last talk of the evening in the main hall he mentioned it - and everyone coming out was eager to talk with us and take a dvd. Dvds given to Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys), Peter Tatchell (Human Rights campaigner), Henry Porter (Guardian columnist), Simon Jenkins (Guardian columnist), Phil Booth (NO2ID National Coordinator), David Davis (Member of Parliament), Brian Eno (Musician & campaigner) and many more February 26th 19 members of the group joined us for a a street action outside the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for their annual awards dinner. We handed out nearly 150 copies of 'Blueprint for Truth'. February 21st Street action outside the Unite Against Fascism annual Conference. 200 more dvds handed out to anti-racism campaigners and much positive engagement. February 11th In support of the truthaction.org Eleventh of Every Month Until Justice Campaign we hit the streets of London at 9am visiting various architectural and engineering companies and giving out copies of Blueprint for Truth to their staff. Later in the day after an unsuccessful attempt to report Tony Blair for his war crimes at Charing X police station we set up outside the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square and gave out over 600 dvds to members of the public. February 5th Street action outside the Institution of Engineering & Technology annual dinner. We hit this event as "1300 senior figures from the global engineering and technology community" were in attendence. That evening we gave out around 250+ copies of Blueprint for Truth, each with a specially designed 8 page leaflet aimed at Engineers. Generally the engineers were receptive to the information having never encountered it before. Join us and other people all around the world every 11th - and every day - and post reports of your actions on truthaction.org http://meetup.com/londontruthaction Truth Times DeliveryDALLAS SUNDAY PAPER: The Truth Times with DVD 100s Delivered on Sundays in March North Texans for 9/11 Truth

Barcelona Truth ActionFirst of all, much respect to all groups taking part, you are a true inspiration! Ok, here's our report from Barcelona, Spain: We were 4 dedicated soldiers, armed with about 500 flyers, DVDs, and what is turning out our best weapon: an information panel that you can see (overburned by the sun) below. Our strategy is simple: find a very crowded walking-only area, with enough space not to get harassed by police, and set up the panel. Immediately we see people congregating around it and studying the information in it with great interest. We had so many discussions I couldn't even remember how many. All were positive and civilized. SO many already know what's going on up to a level, and this is ideal to get it into public discussion, which happened right there and then, between us and the public, and (most importantly) among the public itself. We would like to suggest the use of information panels that stand up on their own, it really catches up the attention of the public, and gives them an opportunity to study it themselves, and not listen to us if they don't feel like it. Remember this is a very delicate psychological moment for people that are first being exposed to this information. Respect is a MUST. That's it from us, keep doing what you do, you are the true heroes of our time!

London January 11thTrafalgar Square. 1 PA System. 800 dvds. 800 flyers. 9 new people. 20 people total. If you live in London join our meetup group and get involved! http://londontruthaction.blogspot.com After the street action some of us went to listen to an Ex-Guantanamo Bay guard and two former detainees speak at Friends Meeting House addressing an audience of nearly 500 people. Christopher Arendt, the first guard to speak publicly, discussed his experiences in Guantanamo and how he left the army and joined Iraq Veterans Against the War. He was joined by former detainees Jaralla Al-Marri and Moazzam Begg. Al-Marri just six months ago was shackled and caged in Guantanamo Bay and his brother remains the only “enemy combatant” imprisoned in the USA. We gave dvds to people as they were leaving.
