WeAreChange Brisbane & Truth Action Brisbane:
Hey all, Matt from WACB here.
Our first summer street action and it was hot but successful! The turnout was Brisbane's best yet with 11 people showing up.
We had people actioning on all 4 corners of the street which was a great sight to see .
Next year we'll start showing the city of Brisbane the very documentaries we hand out so hopefully the people that attend are newcomers who are keen on factual, focused and effective 9/11 activism.

We had another person helping out outside the station and he gave away about 20 disks up there.

I spoke to two people who had planned on coming to see Richard Gage speak at Te Papa, and missed the event, so were pleased to take away some copies of Blue Print for Truth.
Because there were only two of us for the most part in the subway it meant we couldn't hold up our new larger ae911 truth banner but it did look very eye catching on the floor and those who didn' t take any DVDs certainly read the information as they walked past the banner.
We missed None of the Above's usual presence but thanks to J and Gee for coming along and helping. Thanks again to Tony Macaroni for supplying all the DVDs an assortment of BFT 2008, Loose Change Final Cut, Loose Change An American Coup in professional looking plastic sleeves.
I also want to thank everyone who has been active and involved in truth action in 2009! Truth action isn't just about standing in the subway every 11th, a conversation with a family member, friend or colleague or a letter to the media or an MP just as effective! It was heartening to see a level of awareness yesterday at the station about this issue that wasn't there this time last year.

Today was the 35th International Day of Truth Action, btw... next month will complete three years of actions on every eleventh and February 11, 2010 is the third anniversary.

I went to the End US Wars Rally. I handed out several dozen '11 Remarkable Facts about 9/11' cards. Many people told me they knew about 9/11 already, others simply took the info, some refused it.
Activists from DC 9/11 Truth were there as well- I chatted w/ Sheila Casey for a while about a new investigation and the Pentagon evidence. Casey believes 77 did not hit the Pentagon. I maintain the Pentagon should not have been hit at all, and advocate for full disclosure- but we both already knew that about each other.
I ran into John Judge- he had been scheduled to give a short talk on 9/11, but that was preempted and he was only able to introduce Cynthia McKinney.
I was able to ask a few questions of Ralph Nader, David Swanson, Dennis Kucinich and Cynthia McKinney. Unfortunately, I deleted my video of McKinney by mistake, and held the camera sideways for the others (I now know video is not like photos...), so I only uploaded the audio w/ still clips for the others.
I had asked McKinney what she saw as the biggest challenges and opportunities for the 9/11 Truth Movement. She said she had supported NYCCAN and felt justice was disserved in the judge's decision to disallow it. She suggested that a People's Tribunal might be worth pursuing, but that something with legal authority would be best. She also said that she will be pursuing the issue if she gets reelected to Congress.
I particularly liked Ralph Nader's response when I asked about the biggest unanswered questions; he said, "Who's responsible?" is the biggest.
I asked Kucinich the status on his committee's investigation into 9/11, and he said that it is an issue he maintains an interest in- he has questions about pre-9/11 financial transactions- but that his committee has been swamped dealing with Wall Street investigations and the economic meltdown.
David Swanson said 9/11 has not been investigated, and a full investigation is an important issue.

We were committed, even in the cold, to come out and exchange information and ideas among ourselves and with others. Many new people are becoming attracted to the movement. People who approached us included police, Port Authority staff, as well as plenty of passersby. The message is stronger than ever as we have a whole host of JCPD and JCFD officials on our side and even some leverage in the local government via connections to some good people at City Hall.
Later this week we are honoring local activism of all kinds with an end-of-the-year event and next month we are having a movie screening of Loose Change 9/11 An American Coup with Daniel Sunjata hosting.
Rosy red cheeks. Yes, it's winter again! December 11, 2009. Cold and windy but well worth going out
Everyone had their winter gear on this month. Next month will be colder but we're prepared for that
Chris made it out, which is always great. He's got a very calm way about him and it works really well for outreach

John donated 100 discs this month along with 100 sleeves. He's really been helping out with the discs which is great. 300 per month adds up pretty quickly and that's what we've handed out all year
Everyone had their spot
We covered as much area as we could. People were coming from all four directions. The Rideau Centre is always busy
We had a more relaxed truth action. Not too many people were out and about due to the weather, and we spent more time than usual socializing with each other and having fun.
We had 10 activists, including 2 new recruits.
We're planning on having a holiday "While You're Shopping, Bombs are Dropping" Truth Action on Saturday Dec 19 outside the mall in San Francisco, where many people will be perpetuating the wastefulness and consumerism that is the holiday season.
We should be there, snapping them out of their blissful Christmas bubble with signs and information, even if it’s just for a moment of their lives.
